What is the Voice Project?
The Voice Project is a team that listens to:
- Children and young people
- Parents and carers
- Families who get help from Staffordshire’s Families First services
This includes:
- Children’s services
- Local support teams
- Leaving care team
- Fostering and adoption
- Youth offending team
What do we do?
We help children and young people share their views through:
- Children in Care Council – meets twice a month
- Monthly forums – held across Staffordshire
- Care leaver ambassadors – young people who help others prepare for independence
- Consultations and surveys – to improve services
- Training – for staff on how to talk and listen to children
We also work with:
- Police
- Schools and colleges
- Local charities and youth groups
Why it matters
We want children and young people to:
- Have a say in decisions that affect them
- Help make services better
- Feel confident and listened to
Their views are shared with:
- County managers
- Heads of service
- The Corporate Parenting Panel
