Failure to express a preference (children eligible for secondary school place)

Where a Staffordshire parent does not make an application for any school and the child is known to the School Admissions and Transport Service, the child may be allocated an alternative school place if there is one available within a reasonable distance of the home address (providing the child has no EHCP). Transport assistance will not necessarily be provided.
