Why volunteer?

Volunteering is a great way to:

  • Learn about nature and the environment
  • Stay active and healthy
  • Meet new people
  • Gain work experience
  • Help your local community
  • Feel good and boost your mental health

What you might do

There are lots of different tasks, including:

  • Picking up litter
  • Helping at visitor centres
  • Clearing footpaths
  • Looking after wildlife habitats
  • Putting up signs and waymarkers
  • Helping with events

What you need

You don’t need special skills—just:

  • A friendly attitude
  • A love for the outdoors
  • Willingness to follow instructions
  • Reasonable fitness for outdoor work
  • Suitable clothes and sturdy boots

Some roles are only for people aged 18 and over.

Training and support

You’ll get training and support from our team. We also offer special volunteering days for schools, businesses, and community groups.
