Staffordshire police, fire and crime panel

The panel's role is to scrutinise the Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner, to promote transparency of Police and Fire and Rescue business and also to support the Commissioner in the effective exercise of their functions.

Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner

The Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner (PFCC) is not part of the Police or Fire and Rescue Service. It is a statutory Office and the individual elected is responsible for reducing crime and providing a Fire and Rescue Service, making the area they represent safer.

The PFCC decides how much council tax people will be asked to pay towards community safety services, policing and fire and rescue services and is personally accountable for all the public money spent. The Commissioner is not involved in the day to day, operational running of the Police and Fire and Rescue Services.

Visit the Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner website for further information.
