A county councillor is elected to represent the interests of everyone in their constituency for a four-year period. The last elections were held in 2021.
The full council is made up of 62 elected councillors or members. Full council meetings are held at least six times a year and the public are usually able to attend.
We must by law publicise the scheme for payment of allowances to county councillors. We must also publicise annually, the total amounts paid to each councillor.
Our county councillors have funding available to support a huge range of community activities, and community groups can submit new applications each year.
Staffordshire County Councillors come from a wide range of backgrounds, and they bring that joint experience to a role that’s just as varied, exciting and challenging - being a county councillor.
