Log in to your account to renew books, check when items are due back, and other service

Access your account online

Your library card and PIN can be used to sign in to your online account enabling you to:

  • Check the items you have on loan
  • Renew items
  • Reserve items
  • Check the status of your reserved items
  • Check whether your personal details are correct.
  • Reset your PIN

Telephone renewal

If not required by other readers you can renew a book by telephone

You will need either your library card number or the book barcode number to renew.

Reset your library PIN

When you join the library you will be issued with a library card and personal identity number (PIN).

If you have forgotten your PIN you can request a reminder. You can do this by:

  • Accessing the online account page
  • Selecting 'Your Account'
  • Selecting 'Forgot my PIN'. You will be prompted to input your library card number. Your PIN will be forwarded to the email address you provided when you joined the library.

Using the Staffordshire Libraries App

You can access your library account via the Staffordshire Libraries App. Where you will be able to:

  • Search the library catalogue including the eLibrary.
  • Renew and reserve titles
  • View your loans and reservations
  • View fees and charges balance
  • Access your library card barcode for wallet less access
  • Find your nearest library
  • Scan book barcodes to see if they are available on the library catalogue

The Staffordshire Libraries App is available to download for free in the Apple Store and the Google Play Store - search 'Staffordshire Libraries App'

Borrowing from a library

As a library member you can borrow:

  • Books and audio books for 3 weeks, free of charge
  • Digital versions of books, magazines and audiobooks*, free of charge
  • Access a range of subscription services such as Ancestry, Find My Past, Theory Test Pro and much more *

You can also reserve or request an item if it's not in stock at your local library.

After you have finished with the items you have borrowed simply return them to any Staffordshire library

The quickest and easiest way is to apply online. This will provide you with a card number that will be valid for 3 years and will immediately let you:

At a Staffordshire library

You can become a member by visiting any library in Staffordshire. Please visit your local library and present your details to a member of staff or a volunteer who will be pleased to assist you.

Under the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR 2018) we have a legal duty to protect any information that we hold about you. We take measures to safeguard your data and implement security standards and controls to prevent any unauthorised access to it. Information which you have provided in order to become a member of Staffordshire Library Service will be stored securely and will only be used for the delivery of that service. You have the right to cancel your membership at any time and have your records removed in their entirety.
