The Role of the Planning Committee
Our Planning Committee has 15 members. They make decisions on all planning applications for ‘county matters’ like minerals and waste sites, and on our developments. Planning rules have changed a lot in recent years, so the Committee has regular training and visits sites to stay up to date and do their job well.
Planning Committee meetings
The agenda, including reports and minutes from the last meeting, is published on the Wednesday before the Planning Committee meeting. Agendas from 2005 onwards are also available.
The Committee usually meets on the first Thursday of every other month (April, June, August, October, December, February). They look at reports on planning applications, planning policy, and planning regulations.
The meetings are normally held in County Buildings, Martin Street, Stafford.

The meetings are live webcast and recordings of meetings are kept for 12 months from the date of the meeting.
