Staffordshire highways base specification
The Staffordshire Highways Base Specification is the main document for all highway schemes in Staffordshire. It provides the requirements for all highway works from multi-million pound investment schemes, to highway maintenance patching.
The purpose of this document is to ensure that adopted highway is constructed and maintained to high standards, giving the best value for money for the people of Staffordshire. Departures
Any requests to use a material or process which is not covered by the Specification requires submission and approval of an Asset Material Departure Form prior to final design approval. This form can be obtained from your scheme contact Engineer.
A list of previously approved departure materials is also available on request.
