Gritting and Winter Service
The interactive gritting map shows treated routes and salt bin/pile locations across Staffordshire. For precautionary salting, the network is split into two tiers:
Primary Treatment Network
Our priority is to keep major transport and freight links clear, such as A and B roads and routes with high traffic volumes. It is not possible to treat the entire road network.
Extended Treatment Network
This network is treated only during prolonged freezing or snow conditions. It is not treated in marginal weather when extended periods of ice or snow are not expected.
