Reporting to the police

The police will deal with:

  • Obstructing the road or pavement
  • Blocking pedestrian or disabled crossings
  • Parking on zig-zag lines at crossings
  • Parking too close to junctions
  • Double-parking (more than 50 cm from the kerb)

Report illegal parking on the Staffordshire police website.

Parking near schools

We know parking around schools can be difficult. Some parents need to park nearby, but it’s important to do so safely and responsibly.

Our road safety officers may already be working with schools to raise awareness. You can also speak to the school if parking is causing problems.

If vehicles are blocking driveways or ignoring parking restrictions like yellow lines, we may be able to take enforcement action.

Request new restrictions

If the problem continues, you can request new parking restrictions using report it. Choose ‘other road issues’ and then ‘problem parking’ to contact your local highways team.
