What is the National Speed Awareness Course?

This theory-only course educates drivers about speed limits, the consequences of speeding, and how to avoid future offences. There is no police involvement, no driving test, and no practical driving required.

Who is the course for?

You may be eligible if:

  • You exceeded the speed limit (not on a smart motorway)
  • You haven’t taken the same course in the past 3 years
  • You received a police letter offering the course

You cannot self-refer to this course.
