Before you apply
Read the post-16 transport statement before applying. It explains the options available and the eligibility criteria for Staffordshire’s post-16 travel scheme.
If you need travel assistance due to a learning difficulty or disability, a different application form applies.
Application deadline
Submit your application by 1 August in the year before you start Year 12 or above. This helps ensure travel arrangements are in place for the start of the autumn term.
Check other travel options
Before applying, contact your local bus company to see if they offer cheaper travel options.
About the travel pass
If you apply for a local bus or rail pass through the post-16 scheme:
- The pass is only valid on school days (Monday to Friday)
- It is not a 24/7 pass
- The cost is fixed — it doesn’t change based on distance or number of days travelled
