Using the recycling centre
To help keep everyone safe, please take care when using the recycling centre:
- Keep children and pets inside your vehicle at all times.
- Use pedestrian walkways where available.
- Wear protective gloves and sturdy footwear to help prevent cuts or injuries.
If you need help unloading your vehicle, speak to a member of staff. Please be aware that, for health and safety reasons, staff are not required to lift heavy bags or bulky items. To make unloading easier:
- Use smaller bags for heavy waste.
Break down large or heavy items before your visit.
If you don’t have access to a vehicle, please contact us for advice on alternative options.
For residents that don’t drive or have a vehicle, please contact us for advice.
Vans and trailers
Residents who use a van, pick-up, or trailer to dispose of household waste will need a permit to visit this recycling centre.
A detailed list of vehicles requiring a permit is available on the van permit page.
The permit allows 12 visits per year in a van or with a trailer over 1.5 metres.
No permit is needed for cars — visits in a car are unlimited.
