Health and safety inspections (LOLER)
To keep lifting equipment safe and working properly, regular checks are carried out under the Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations (LOLER). These regulations are a legal requirement to make sure equipment is safe for use.
What does this involve?
- Our insurance provider carries out visual safety checks on lifting equipment, such as hoists and stair lifts.
- These checks look for signs of wear, damage or anything that could make the equipment unsafe.
- LOLER inspections are separate from routine servicing or maintenance.
What happens if a problem is found?
- If a defect is found while the equipment is under warranty, it will be reported to the manufacturer for repair.
- If the equipment is out of warranty, we will let you know what needs to be done and who is responsible for fixing it.
Why are these checks important?
Regular LOLER inspections help prevent accidents and make sure equipment continues to meet safety standards. They are part of our commitment to keeping you safe at home.
