Costs and other ways to get equipment
There are many products that can make everyday life safer and easier — from small items like jar openers or talking clocks to larger home adaptations such as stair lifts or level‑access showers.
- Equipment and minor adaptations costing £1,000 or less are usually free if you’re eligible for care and support.
- Adaptations costing more than £1,000: you’ll be asked to complete a financial assessment to work out what you need to contribute.
