Tobacco regulations

New regulations have come into force regulating standardised 'plain' packaging for:

  • tobacco products

  • herbal products for smoking

  • electronic cigarettes

The Chartered Trading Standards Institute and Action on Smoking and Health (ASH) produces guidance on the Action on Smoking and Health - ASH

  • Packs with minimum of 20 cigarettes

  • Roll-you-own tobacco with a min weight of 30g

  • Unflavoured cigarettes or roll-your-own tobacco

  • E-cigarettes with a health warning

  • E-cigarettes with a maximum of 20 mg/ml of nicotine (unless licensed as a medicine)

  • E-cigarette refills with max size of 10ml
