Xtinguish and Night Rider
Staffordshire Youth Offending Service works with the Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service to help young people who have committed fire or car crimes.
There are two special projects:
1. Xtinguish – Helping Young People Who Set Fires
Xtinguish is for young people who have started fires or been involved in fire-related crime.
- They meet with a firefighter at a local fire station
- They take part in weekly sessions
- They learn why fire is dangerous and how their actions affect others
- They talk about how to make better choices
This project is run with help from:
- Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service
- Staffordshire Youth Offending Service
- Stoke-on-Trent Youth Offending Service
2. Night Rider – Helping Young People Involved in Car Crime
Night Rider is for young people who have committed car crimes.
- They work one-to-one with a trained fire service worker
- They learn about the dangers of car crime
- They talk about how to stay safe and avoid breaking the law again
