Support for parents of young offenders

If your child has broken the law or is at risk of doing so, we’re here to help you.

Parenting Orders

A Parenting Order is a court decision that says you must work with us to support your child. We’ll agree a plan with you and keep it as straightforward as possible.

Meeting a support worker once a week

You’ll have regular one‑to‑one time to talk through what’s happening, practise new approaches, and review progress. Sessions are typically at a set time so it’s easy to keep on track.

Joining a parenting group

Groups are friendly and practical. You’ll learn useful tools, share ideas with other parents, and see that you’re not alone. Many parents say the group is the most helpful part.

Doing activities at home with your child

We’ll suggest small, positive activities you can try together—like problem‑solving chats, setting routines, or reward systems—so changes stick in day‑to‑day life.

If you don’t follow the rules of the order, you could be fined. We’ll help you understand the requirements and keep you on track.
