Programme roadmap
The council has declared a commitment to be net carbon zero by 2050. Whilst our aspirations are high to reduce this as much as possible, we acknowledge we cannot reach net zero without some carbon sequestration or offsetting. This also forms a key role within the plan.
Road map
Our roadmap sets out how we plan to reduce emissions from Staffordshire County Council. These reductions are based on government targets, both current and proposed, as well as expected changes in industry and the economy.
We know that further changes in the energy and transport sectors could affect our path to net zero. That’s why we regularly review our roadmap to make sure we stay on track to meet our 2050 target.
