How much does it cost?
A private licence for placing apparatus in the highway costs £400.
Some applications may require technical approval or inspection during construction. These may incur additional charges.
Permit to dig: A separate permit is required for any works. Additional costs apply. Please see the permit to dig page for details.
Fast track application
We aim to process standard applications within 20 working days.
If you need your permit sooner, we offer a fast track service with a minimum of 5 days’ notice. This service costs an additional £62.
