Structural maintenance on Park Wood Drive (D2237)
Staffordshire County Council will soon begin significant structural maintenance on Park Wood Drive (D2237) in Baldwins Gate. This project represents a £360,000 investment in improving the local road network. The works include:
- Replacing ironwork where needed.
- Repairing and replacing damaged kerbs.
- Resurfacing the carriageway under lane closures and temporary night-time closures.
When are the works taking place?
- Start date: Monday 12 January 2026
- Duration: Approximately 4 weeks
When will the works be completed?
We expect the scheme to be finished by mid-February 2026, weather and conditions permitting.
Will I be able to access my home/business?
- For safety reasons, the road will be closed during carriageway resurfacing. Exact closure dates will be confirmed nearer the time.
- Access to nearby streets will be kept open for most residents, though delays are likely.
- A signed diversion route will be in place – no through traffic permitted in the works zone.
What effect could the works have on me?
- Expect some minor traffic delays as sections of the road are resurfaced.
- Noise from machinery is likely during working hours.
- You may need to move your vehicle on resurfacing days. Affected properties will receive letters with full details.
How you can help us
- Keep children away from the work zones for their safety.
- Drive slowly and carefully through any live working areas.
- Clean your shoes if entering your home or car, to remove any bitumen residue.
