Holiday Activities and Food - Information for providers
What is HAF?
The Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) programme gives children aged 5 to 16:
- Fun activities
- A healthy hot meal
- Support during school holidays
It’s free for children who get benefit-related free school meals.
What we need
We want providers who can offer:
Full HAF
- 4 hours a day
- For 4 days
- Includes fun activities and a healthy meal
HAF Light
- 2 hours a day
- For 2 or more days
- Includes fun activities and a healthy meal
Family Activity Days
- Children and parents join in together
- Cook and eat a meal
- Take part in games and crafts
- Could include day trips or walks
We also ask providers to give out:
- Food hampers
- Activity packs
- Help with healthy eating
When is HAF running?
- Easter: 14 April – 25 April 2025
- Summer: 22 July – 29 August 2025
- Winter: 22 December 2025 – 2 January 2026
Children can book up to 16 sessions during each holiday.

We’re looking for organisations to help run fun holiday clubs for children in Staffordshire.
