Mineral and waste search enquiries
Introduction
We can provide information in relation to minerals and waste development including historic records, and current planning applications in the vicinity of a property or land.
Information is based on our planning records and may identify the following;
Mineral workings
- Current planning applications for the working of minerals or related operations near to a property or land.
- Planning permissions granted for surface and underground mineral working and related operations within the curtilage or near to a property or land together with the status of the site (e.g. active; closed; dormant; not commenced etc.)
- Whether a property or land is located in a Mineral Safeguarding Area or is in the vicinity of an allocation for mineral working as identified in the Minerals Local Plan for Staffordshire (2015-2030).
Waste management facilities
- Current planning applications for waste management facilities or disposal sites near to a property or land.
- Planning permissions granted for waste management facilities or disposal sites near to a property or land together with the status of the site (e.g. active; closed, etc.)
Please note: We do not hold planning records prior to 1947.

In the subject heading - Mineral/Waste Search: your name and the address of the property or land. Also include a location plan of the property or land (1:2500 scale or similar).

The charge for the search
There is a charge for the search payable to ‘Staffordshire County Council’ before a reply will be sent. For the latest charge please refer to our Charges and fees for planning related services page.
If you require a hard copy reply an additional photocopying and postage charge will be payable.
