If you or someone you care for is experiencing hearing loss, we offer support through its Sensory Team and local services. Here's how to get started:
How to Get Support
Follow these steps to access help:
- Speak to your GP
Your GP can refer you for a hearing assessment. - Confirm your hearing level
Ask for an audiogram and discuss next steps with your audiologist. - Explore hearing aids
NHS digital hearing aids may be available depending on your assessment. - Referral to the Sensory Team
Our Sensory Team can assess your needs and provide tailored support. This includes advice on communication methods, specialist equipment, and rehabilitation programmes to help you adjust to hearing loss. - Create a personal action plan
Based on your assessment, we’ll help you build a plan using local services and support networks. - Review regularly
Hearing tests are usually recommended every 3 years.

- Deaf with speech
- Deaf without speech
- Hard of hearing
Registration can help you access:
- Concessions and discounts
- Support services and equipment
- Communication assistance (e.g. BSL interpreters)
